Currently serving as an officer for the Key West Police Department since 2012, Michael has held roles such as Traffic/Motor Officer and Traffic Homicide Investigator. He has conducted over 2,000 traffic crash investigations, including approximately 130 critical injury crashes and 20 fatal crash cases. His extensive field experience is further strengthened by the reconstruction of complex accident scenes using advanced tools like the FARO 3D laser scanner, with more than 40 laser-scanned scenes completed to date.
Michael’s qualifications extend beyond practical experience. He has undergone advanced training, including certifications in Traffic Crash Reconstruction (80 hours), Motorcycle Crash Investigation (40 hours), Commercial Vehicle Crash Investigation (40 hours), and Event Data Recorder (EDR) Use. Her work contributed to shaping national safety policies, including efforts to modernize federal crash data regulations and support future rulemaking for advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and automated vehicles (AVs).
